I am a published author and my husband and I are professional copywriters by profession. We have been at it since we started homeschooling our kids. It would seem that our children are picking up a lot of the terminology we use and they are starting to inquire about the things they don't understand (such as SEO, etc.) It is pretty cute to hear a 9-year old ask what SEO is all about. ;-) Copy writing is a HUGE industry and there will soon be place in my business for my children to earn some extra doooler$, as they like to put it. My dream was to teach homeschool moms how they too can benefit from this very flexible opportunity, but it actually seems that most homeschool moms prefer to sew co-ordinating outfits during the non-schooling hours. Perhaps my age is a factor in my desire to want many different things to keep me occupied. The other things do not take away from my number one priority - raising clever, amazing little adults.

There's a great blog written by a 16 year old homeschooler from Texas on the topic of business and entrepreneurship. He chronicles ways that students can start their own business while still in school. http://www.kidpreneurclub.com. Great information. More families need to look into these types of activities. The skills learned and used to start and maintain a profitable family-based small business is great for students creative learning.
