Spanking is not the solution to any behavioral problem exept willing disobedience. In this case forgetting to make the bed is a weakness. A wise parent would sweetly remind the child and her smiles would be reward enough for him to do it. If a child loves, he will obey. How can he love a mother that is cross and scolding all the time? Remember, patience is not done in a fit of temper. This mother should have checked herself. If she is yelling at the child, she is wrong, no matter what the child did. Very well said.
